Car Diagnostics and Check-Engine-Light Testing
A warning light or stored fault code is a starting point, not a complete diagnosis. Shah Motors combines scan-tool information with visual checks and targeted testing to identify the likely cause before recommending parts.
Diagnosis for warning lights and driveability problems
We diagnose check-engine lights, misfires, rough running, starting problems, charging concerns, overheating, electrical faults and other driveability complaints. Please tell us when the problem began, whether it is constant or intermittent, and what warning messages appeared.
- Check-engine and warning-light scans
- Misfire, rough-running and no-start diagnosis
- Battery, starting and charging-system testing
- Electrical, cooling and sensor fault investigation
Frequently asked questions
Does a trouble code tell you exactly which part to replace?
Not always. A code identifies the system or condition the computer detected. Testing is often needed to determine the actual cause.
Can I drive with the check-engine light on?
A steady light may still require prompt diagnosis. A flashing light, severe shaking, overheating, an oil-pressure warning or major loss of power can indicate a risk of damage; stop driving and call for advice.
How should I describe an intermittent problem?
Note when it occurs, vehicle speed, engine temperature, weather, warning messages and any recent repairs. Photos or videos can also help.
